Turkey Updates Rules for Driving Foreign-Plated Vehicles

Turkey has clarified the rules for using foreign-plated vehicles temporarily imported into the country.

The owner's spouse, parents and children who also reside outside Türkiye may now drive the vehicle without the owner being inside the car, provided the owner remains in Türkiye.

If the owner leaves the country, no one may use the vehicle until the owner returns.

Other foreign nationals may continue to drive the vehicle only when the owner is present in the car.
