Turkey launches new online service for foreign-plated vehicles
Turkey's Ministry of Trade has introduced the official YPTİ (Foreign License Plate Vehicle Operations) portal, allowing owners of foreign-registered vehicles to complete many customs-related procedures online without visiting government offices.
The new portal allows users to:
Check how long a vehicle is allowed to remain in Turkey. Receive email reminders before the permitted stay expires. Submit or cancel commitment declarations (Taahhütname) electronically. Notify customs when leaving Turkey without the vehicle and register its storage location online. Check and pay traffic fines, toll road and bridge debts.
Why it matters
Exceeding the temporary import period can result in significant fines, vehicle impoundment, and difficulties when entering Turkey in the future. The new portal helps drivers keep track of deadlines and required procedures.
The service is especially useful for owners of vehicles registered in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, EU countries, and other foreign jurisdictions.
