Fuel prices rise again in Türkiye

📅 September 15, 2026📰 GaziPortal

On September 12, 2026, gasoline prices in Türkiye increased by approximately TRY 3.25 per litre. The increase was driven by higher Brent crude prices and growing concerns over possible disruptions to global oil supplies amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Fuel prices on September 12

Istanbul:

Gasoline: around TRY 80.26/litre Diesel: around TRY 89.01/litre

Alanya:

Gasoline: around TRY 82.40/litre Diesel: around TRY 91.41/litre Diesel tax is set to increase gradually

As of September 1, 2026, the Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) on diesel is TRY 3 per litre. It is scheduled to increase gradually:

October: TRY 6 November: TRY 9 December: TRY 12 From January 1, 2027: TRY 13.9006 per litre.

Importantly, TRY 13.9006 is the diesel ÖTV rate, not a guaranteed TRY 13.9 increase in the pump price. VAT is also calculated on the tax, while crude oil prices, exchange rates and other fuel-market costs can change at the same time.

What could happen next?

Higher fuel costs are likely to put additional pressure on taxi services, logistics, transportation, delivery services and other businesses. However, the actual impact on pump prices will depend on oil prices, the Turkish lira exchange rate and market conditions.
