Türkiye plans to reach the Moon in 2027
Türkiye is preparing its lunar mission and aims to reach the Moon in 2027. According to the head of the Turkish Space Agency, the mission is currently targeted for June 2027.
The spacecraft is expected to be launched into Earth orbit using a SpaceX launch vehicle. It will then travel toward the Moon using a domestically developed hybrid propulsion system produced by Turkish company DeltaV.
At the same time, Türkiye is developing its own space infrastructure. A spaceport is being built in Somalia as part of the country's long-term goal of achieving more independent access to space.
The Turkish Space Agency states that the lunar programme aims to reach the lunar surface using domestically developed technologies.
If successful, the mission would place Türkiye among the countries that have reached the Moon.
